About My Role:
As an intern with the US Army Corps of Engineers, I collaborated with a team of engineers, gaining hands-on experience in the fields of hydrology, construction, and project management. My role involved traveling to and from various work sites to gather data and attend departmental meetings, providing support with administrative tasks, and assisting in technical projects. I played an active part in preparing reports and spreadsheets for hydrological analysis and contributed to editing plans for upcoming dredging projects in Michigan. This internship provided invaluable exposure to the complexities of engineering operations and allowed me to develop key skills in technical communication, project management, and environmental planning.
Duties:
- Assisted engineers in compiling and analyzing hydrology data for project use
- Attended internal departmental meetings to stay informed on project progress
- Edited and reviewed dredging plans for upcoming projects in Michigan
- Shadowed engineers in day-to-day project management and coordination tasks
