Description: These grants are made possible by the GROW Lansing Program, which aims towards helping people grow gardens together by giving the resources and knowledge. A core focus of GROW Lansing is promoting equity in sustainable land use and food security, particularly addressing the needs of marginalized citizens who struggle with limited resources.
GROW Lansing was funded by the Childhood Obesity Prevention & Environmental Health and Sustainability Award, present by the US Conference of Mayors and American Beverage Association. The awarded funds are distributed into community garden mini grants, forming a vital lifeline for these initiatives.
Criteria: Applications for grants will be accepted continuously, with awards granted according to needs assessment, alignment with priority objectives, and program sustainability. Grant amounts will range from $200 to $5000. The review panel includes representatives from the City’s:
- Sustainability Office
- Public Service
- Department of Neighborhoods, Arts and Citizen Engagement (DNACE)
- Greater Lansing Food Bank- Garden Project
Application Details:
