Description: The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is a group of high school students from across the tri-county capital region. The YAC makes grants from the Youth Fund to support programs that help teens aged 12-18, based on the most recent youth needs assessment survey.
Criteria: Youth Grant proposals must predominantly benefit teens in the tri-county capital region of Michigan. The Youth Advisory Council is especially interested in proposals that provide teens with skills to handle the most pressing teen issues, which currently are:
- Teen Mental Wellness (depression, anxiety, stress, etc.)
- Substance Abuse (especially vaping)
- Violence
Application Details:
- Youth Grant application period will be December 8, 2023 – February 8, 2024.
- Final grant decisions are made by the Youth Advisory Council in April. Applicants will be notified in early May.
