From Eat. Nerd. Create. to JustDesi
Before this blog became JustDesi, it was called Eat. Nerd. Create.
Honestly? I still love that name.
At the time, it perfectly represented the different parts of me I wanted to share online. I loved food, creativity, technology, storytelling, and learning new things. Those categories felt like the clearest way to organize my interests and finally give myself permission to show up online.
But over time, I realized something important.
I was trying too hard to separate pieces of myself that were never actually separate to begin with.
The Pressure to Pick One Thing
For years, I felt like I needed to “pick a lane” online.
Should I focus on food content?
Should I become a tech creator?
Should I lean fully into branding and entrepreneurship?
Should I separate my personal life from my creative work?
Should I create multiple brands for every version of myself?
At some point, I realized I was spending more time organizing myself than actually creating.
The internet loves simple labels and perfectly packaged niches. Real people are usually a lot more layered than that.
The Meaning Behind Eat. Nerd. Create.
Even though the blog name changed, the meaning behind it still matters to me.
Eat
Food has always been more than just food to me.
It’s comfort. Creativity. Culture. Community. Connection.
I grew up learning how to cook young, became a full-blown foodie somewhere along the way, and developed an unhealthy emotional attachment to good meals, cooking shows, and restaurant menus.
Honestly, if a conversation somehow turns into food, I will always have something to contribute.
Nerd
I’ve always been a nerd at heart.
Books, technology, internet culture, Apple products, media, random facts, productivity tools, games, creative tech, and deep dives into things other people probably do not care enough about.
You know those people who fall into internet rabbit holes at 1 AM because they needed to know one random thing? Yeah. That’s me.
Being nerdy is a huge part of how I experience the world.
Create
Creating has never felt optional for me.
Whether it’s writing, designing, building websites, storytelling, branding, content creation, or finding ways to bring ideas to life, creativity has always been woven into who I am.
“Being creative is not a hobby. It’s a way of life.”
That mindset still shapes almost everything I do.
Realizing I Was the Common Denominator
Eventually, I realized all those categories already had one thing connecting them:
Me.
Not in an egotistical “I’m the brand” kind of way, but in the sense that every interest, lesson, story, and experience is filtered through my perspective anyway.
The more I tried to split myself into separate boxes online, the more disconnected my content started to feel.
Switching to my own name gave me room to evolve naturally instead of constantly asking myself whether a new interest “fit the brand.”
Because real people grow. Interests change. Life changes.
And honestly? I wanted this space to feel more human than heavily curated.
What Changed and What Stayed the Same
Even though the name changed, the heart of the blog didn’t.
Eat. Nerd. Create. still exists throughout this website. Those ideas simply became categories instead of containers I felt trapped inside.
This version of the blog feels more flexible, more intentional, and a lot more aligned with who I am now.
Less pressure to perform.
Less pressure to niche down.
More room to simply exist, create, and share honestly.
And in the end, that’s exactly the kind of space I wanted to build.
